Keep an eye on Money

Nowadays, keeping control of your money is much easier than it was when our parents went around keeping stacks of receipts and organizing on huge organizer folders. Simple accounting interactive tools, which can be as complicated and powerful elaborate accounting software, or as simple – but equally powerful – as Excel spreadsheets are out in the market, and keeping your money in check is just a matter or learning how to use them correctly. But for most of us, it’s really not a matter of how easy this or that tool is to use, or how simple and fast it is to keep a watch on our finance – it’s really a problem of motivation.

The common worker, or even the common household, doesn’t feel like it makes enough money to justify active “bookkeeping”. But this is a common misconception, as keeping an eye on your spending is a way to curb it, or at least to spend your money more wisely so as to keep your account balance higher. The Internet is full of success stories from people who, with simple means, realized that the cup of coffee that they got twice a day across the street or the fact that they started to buy groceries in the supermarket two blocks further down the road made an acute difference on how things looked at the end of the month.
